The scoring began in the 8th minute when Gastón Togni made a brilliant finish to break the initial deadlock. At the 23-minute mark, Alonso Aceves doubled the advantage with a precise shot, sending the ball into the net after another well-executed play. Just before halftime, at the 41-minute mark, Sergio Barreto sealed the game with a header, marking the highlight of a commanding display by the visiting side.
Togni earned praise for his early strike, placing the ball expertly into the bottom-left corner after receiving an assist from Elías Montiel.
Atlas almost found a consolation goal shortly after halftime, but Alfonso González’s effort hit the woodwork in the 47th minute.
