In an exciting match at Avaya Stadium, FC Dallas managed to secure a 2-2 draw against San Jose Earthquakes, courtesy of a striking double from Petar Musa. The Earthquakes took the lead in the 20th minute with a well-placed shot by Ian Harkes. However, FC Dallas responded valiantly, with Musa finding the back of the net just before the halftime whistle at the 47th minute, and then again in the 39th minute of the second half, turning the tide in their favor.
Despite the effort from FC Dallas, the Earthquakes refused to back down. In a dramatic turn of events, Josef Martínez scored a crucial header in the 40th minute of the second half to level the match.
FC Dallas had an opportunity to equalize earlier when a shot from Patrickson Delgado struck the post just before halftime, preventing a potential comeback.
Josef Martínez’s performance proved vital, earning him the title of player of the match with one goal and two attempts on target. Petar Musa also shined with two goals, taking three shots throughout the game.
Coach Bruce Arena deployed a 3-5-2 formation for San Jose Earthquakes, featuring Daniel in goal; with Rodrigues, Bruno Wilson, and Reid Roberts in defense; while Ian Harkes, Cristian Espinoza, Nikolas Tsakiris, Beau Leroux, and Vitor Costa made up the midfield; and Cristian Arango alongside Josef Martínez led the attack.
On the other hand, FC Dallas, guided by Eric Quill, opted for a 4-4-2 formation with Maarten Paes between the posts; Shaquell Moore, Lalas Abubakar, Sebastien Ibeagha, and Marco Farfan in defense; Patrickson Delgado, Ramiro, Kaick, and Bernard Kamungo in midfield; and Petar Musa paired with Joshua Torquato in the forward line.
