This Sunday, Ñublense and Huachipato faced off at Estadio Bicentenario Nelson Oyarzún in a gripping encounter that ended in a 2-2 stalemate, part of round 4 of the Copa Chile.
Ñublense started strong, taking the lead with goals from Giovanny Ávalos at the 8th minute and Martín Rodríguez at the 33rd minute. However, Huachipato rallied back to equalize the match, first reducing the deficit with Lionel Altamirano’s goal at the 57th minute, followed by Maximiliano Gutiérrez’s equalizer just 11 minutes later.
Giovanny Ávalos was named the best player of the match, contributing significantly with a goal for Ñublense. Meanwhile, Maximiliano Gutiérrez impressed not only with his defensive performance but also by scoring for Huachipato.
Ñublense’s coach, Ronald Fuentes, opted for a 4-4-2 formation with Nicola Pérez in goal; a defense line of Bernardo Cerezo, Osvaldo Bosso, Carlos Labrín, and Giovanni Campusano; a midfield consisting of Lorenzo Reyes, Federico Mateos, Matías Plaza, and Martín Rodríguez; and a striking duo of Gonzalo Sosa and Giovanny Ávalos.
On the other hand, Huachipato, under coach Jaime García, also lined up in a 4-4-2 formation, with Rodrigo Odriozola as goalkeeper; a backline of Maximiliano Gutiérrez, Rafael Caroca, Benjamín Gazzolo, and Antonio Castillo; midfielders Maicol León, Claudio Sepúlveda, Jimmy Martínez, and Óscar Ortega; and forwards Julián Brea and Lionel Altamirano.
The match was officiated by referee Felipe González Alveal. Both teams will prepare for a decisive second leg on Wednesday, July 16, in hopes of advancing to the Copa Chile semifinals.
