In a gripping encounter, Juan Manuel Gutiérrez showcased his striking prowess by netting both goals for Boston River, culminating in a 2-1 victory over MC Torque this Monday during the sixth round of the Intermedio group B. The match, held at the Estadio Centenario, saw Gutiérrez ignite celebrations early on with a powerful strike merely 4 minutes into the first half.
After a tense battle, MC Torque’s José Neris leveled the score at 38 minutes with a well-executed play, but Gutiérrez returned to the spotlight, securing the win for his team with his second goal in the 86th minute, sealing the fate of the match.
Gutiérrez emerged as the match’s standout player, not only for his two goals but also for his efforts in testing the opposing goalkeeper twice. Meanwhile, Neris contributed significantly to his team’s fightback by scoring, emphasizing his threat in the attacking third.
Boston River’s head coach, Jadson Viera Castro, adopted a tactical 3-5-2 formation, placing Bruno Antúnez in goal, supported by defenders Marcos Gómez, Martín González, and Mateo Rivero. The midfield was manned by Juan Manuel Acosta, Rodrigo Amado, Mauricio Vera, Jairo O’Neill, and Facundo Muñoa, with Gutiérrez and Agustín Anello leading the attack.
In contrast, Martin Cicotello set his side in a structured 4-5-1 formation. Juan Tinaglini guarded the goal, while the defensive line comprised Franco Pizzichillo, Eduardo Agüero, Gary Kagelmacher, and Ezequiel Busquets. The midfield featured Matías Rodríguez, Pablo Siles, Diogo Guzmán, Santiago Costa, and Walter Nuñez, with Neris as the lone striker up front.
Referee Leandro Lasso oversaw the match seamlessly, ensuring that the intensity remained high throughout the 90 minutes.
Looking ahead, Boston River will host Miramar Misiones, while MC Torque will travel to face Racing (U) at Estadio Parque Osvaldo Roberto in their next fixtures.
