In the sixth matchday of Group A in the Intermedio, Peñarol claimed victory against Wanderers, finishing the match with a score of 2-0. Ignacio Sosa put Peñarol ahead by scoring in the 44th minute of the first half, and Maximiliano Silvera sealed the win by striking decisively just one minute into the second half.
Just before Sosa’s opening goal, Joaquín Zeballos had a golden opportunity to score, but his shot hit the post in the 38th minute.
Damián Suárez emerged as the standout player of the match, playing a critical role in defense by clearing three balls from dangerous areas.
