In the fifth round of Group A of the Intermedio, Cerro managed to secure a 2-1 win against Cerro Largo this Thursday. The first goal for Cerro came at the 31st minute of the first half, as Enzo Larrosa expertly converted a penalty, giving his team the lead. However, Cerro Largo fought back with determination, pulling level when Máximo Alonso found a gap to score in the 21st minute of the second half. In a dramatic twist, it was Cerro’s Máximo Alonso who scored again at the 44th minute to clinch the victory.
Máximo Alonso stood out as the man of the match, showcasing his talent by scoring twice. Not to be overshadowed, Mauricio Affonso from Cerro Largo also left a mark on the game with a goal.
The strategy employed by Cerro’s head coach, Tabaré Silva, was a 5-3-2 formation featuring Mathías Cubero as goalkeeper; Emiliano Álvarez, Emilio Crespo, Mauro Villar, Axel Frugone, and Emanuel Cuello in defense; Agustín Miranda, Sebastián Cáceres, and Matías Ocampo in midfield; and Facundo Silvestre along with Enzo Larrosa leading the attack.
On the other side, the team managed by Danielo Nuñez took to the field with a 4-4-2 formation, with Gino Santilli in goal; a defensive line of Alan García, Mauro Brasil, Cristian Gonzalez, and Matías Mir; a midfield composed of Alan Di Pippa, Sebastián Assís, Nicolás Bertocchi, and Maximiliano Añasco; and Julián Contrera and Facundo Peraza in front.
