The home side opened the scoring early with Magomed Suleymanov finding the net in the 7th minute. However, a swift response from Sporting Kansas came just three minutes later, as Petar Musa scored to level the match.
The game’s intensity heightened in the second half, with FC Dallas taking the lead again thanks to a penalty conversion from Luciano Acosta in the 58th minute. Acosta not only scored from the spot but also added another goal in the 76th minute, significantly contributing to the team’s dominance. Santiago Muñoz capped off the scoring for FC Dallas, scoring just before full time with a clinical finish.
Bernard Kamungo provided a spark for FC Dallas after joining the fray, impressively scoring in the 68th minute with a well-placed shot to the right corner of the net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Despite Kamungo’s efforts, including a near miss hitting the post in stoppage time, the standout performer of the day was undoubtedly Petar Musa from Sporting Kansas City, who not only scored one goal but also made four attempts on target, displaying his attacking prowess.
Sporting Kansas City’s head coach Kerry Zavagnin opted for a 4-3-3 formation, placing John Pulskamp in goal.
